Dried White Sand 20kg

Bundaberg kiln dried silica sand, used in epoxy flooring for slip resistance and sand broadcast systems. As well as mixing with epoxy to make repair and cove mortars.
When applied correctly Silica Sand will reach Australian Standard OHS slip-resistant requirements. Pair it with our GP Epoxy for a range of applications or 6150RC for rapid and strong repairs.

Choose fromFine, Medium or Coarse silica sand, depending on whether you're creating a smooth self-levelling mix, general-purpose coving and repair mortar, or a heavier mortar for deeper repairs.

The three grades can also be blended together to tailor the consistency and aggregate profile of your epoxy mortar.

Available Grades

SF2 Fine — 106–212 µm

A fine silica sand suited to applications where a smooth finish and fine aggregate profile are required.

Recommended for:

  • Self-levelling epoxy
  • Thin smoothing layers
  • Fine patching
  • Scratch and skim coats
  • Minor surface repairs
  • Blending with F6 for smoother repair mortars

Best choice for:
Self-levelling and fine finishing applications.

F6 Medium — 106–600 µm

Our recommendedgeneral-purpose epoxy aggregate and the most versatile grade in the range.

Its broad particle grading makes it well suited to epoxy mortars that need good body while remaining easy to mix and trowel.

Recommended for:

  • Epoxy coving
  • General floor repairs
  • Epoxy repair mortar
  • Crack and chase filling
  • Concrete patching
  • Polymer mortar
  • Blending with SF2 or C1

Best choice for:
Coving and everyday epoxy repair work.

C1 Coarse — 600–1400 µm

A coarse silica aggregate used to add structure and bulk to heavier epoxy mortars.

C1 is particularly useful when blended with F6 for deeper repairs where a coarser aggregate profile is desirable.

Recommended for:

  • Deeper floor repairs
  • Heavy epoxy mortar
  • Larger void filling
  • Thick repair sections
  • Polymer mortar
  • Blending with F6 to reduce resin demand in heavier mixes

Best choice for:
Deeper repairs and heavy-duty epoxy mortars.

Which Grade Do I Need?

Application Recommended Aggregate
1–2 mm self-levelling / smoothing SF2
2–4 mm smoothing mortar SF2 + F6
Standard epoxy coving F6
3–10 mm general repair F6
5–15 mm heavier repair F6 + C1
10–25+ mm repair F6 + higher proportion of C1

Thicknesses are a general application guide and will depend on the epoxy resin system, aggregate loading and installation method.

Suggested Aggregate Blends

The three grades can be used individually or combined to create different mortar characteristics.

Application Suggested Aggregate Blend
Fine self-levelling 100% SF2
Fine smoothing mortar 50% SF2 / 50% F6
Coving 100% F6
General repair mortar 100% F6
Medium/heavy repair 70% F6 / 30% C1
Heavy repair mortar 50% F6 / 50% C1
Deep repair mortar 30–40% F6 / 60–70% C1

Blend percentages refer to the aggregate portion of the mix only.
The required epoxy-to-aggregate ratio will depend on the resin system and desired working consistency.

A Simple Three-Sand System

SF2 Fine
106–212 µm
Self-levelling & fine filling

F6 Medium
106–600 µm
Coving & general repairs

C1 Coarse
600–1400 µm
Heavy & deeper repairs

Keeping these three grades on hand allows installers to cover most everyday epoxy flooring, coving and repair applications without carrying a large range of different aggregates.
